3D
Digitizing
3D
digitizing captures the physical shape of
an object and converts it into a digital
format. This digital format can be xyz measurement
points, splines, cross sections, polygonal
stl models or Nurbs surface/solid models. Our
3D digitizing capabilities include both
contact and non contact digitizing. Contact
digitizing may be used on most prismatic
hard surfaces and is recommended for smaller
objects. On the other hand, non contact
digitizing is used to provide higher resolution
denser data on larger freeform shaped projects.
It is also recommended for softer and more
fragile surfaces, since there is no contact
between the actual part and the 3d digitizing
camera.
Non
contact digitizing is done through special
digitizing machines which captures hundreds
of thousands of points in a single "shot
"of the object. We have a host of different
digitizing hardwares at our disposal, both
contact and non contact. These include white
light digitizing systems, laser digitizers
and a portable CMM.
Each
project is carefully analyzed to judge which
hardware would be best suited to complete
it in the most efficient, accurate and cost
effective manner. All these systems perform
specific tasks and may be used in conjunction
with each other on any given project. The
digitized data can be delivered in a variety
of different formats.
